Malayalam TV is all set to have another movie premiere. The popular anthology movie, 'Aanum Pennum', is gearing up for the world television premiere today (June 17). The movie which was released in March has Samkuktha Menon, Parvathy Thiruvoth, and
Darshana Rajendran,
Joju George,
Asif Ali and
Roshan Mathew in the star cast. The anthology was critically acclaimed for the portrayal of the socio-political transformation of women over the years.
The three stories in the anthology are that of Savithri, Rachiyammma and Rani.
Savithri is directed by Jay K, and the story is set in Kerala at the time right after the British Raj when the communists were being publicly prosecuted.
Rachiyammma, directed by Venu, is based on a 1969 novella written by Uroob. It revolves around Rachiyamma, a milkmaid and her platonic affection towards a plantation officer who takes charge at the estate near her home. Rani, directed by
Aashiq Abu, tells the tale of two young and eager lovers whose eagerness gets the better of them.
Sharing his excitement on the premiere, actor Asif Ali was also featured in one of the teasers.

Malayalam TV channels have premiered a handful of blockbusters during the pandemic. As the TV shoots were stalled due to the second wave of COVID-19, viewers stayed entertained by the premieres. World TV premieres of Mohanlal starrer,'Drishyam 2' and Mammootty's 'The Priest' scored well in the TRP charts too.
