Chithra made her acting debut as a child artist. Eventually, she acted with many popular stars like
Prem Nazir,
Mohanlal, Vijaykumar, Sarathkumar, and others. She featured in hundreds of movies in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Hindi too.
In Tamil, Chithra is known for her performances in the movies like Apoorva Ragangal, En Thangachi Padichava,
Cheran Pandiyan
, to name a few.
On the TV front, Chithra acted in the shows like Asaigal, Udhyogasthan, Kanavarukaaga, Kaialavu Manasu, and Saariyum Illai Thappum Illai - Micro Thodar Macro Sinthanaigal. She was also a part of TV shows Nagamma (in Telugu) and Manasi (in Malayalam).
