VJ Sunny has finally become the captain of the BB house after several futile attempts. It was a much awaited win for him and his fans on social media. While he is enjoying every bit of his captaincy in the house, here are a few interesting trivia about the journalist-turned-actor.

Sunny's mother Kalavathi always wanted to be an actress. Since Sunny was active in co-curricular activities during childhood, she nurtured the artist in him. Sunny also developed interest in acting.

His performance as Aladdin in a Telugu play got him a chance in yet another play. Sunny started his professional career as a TV host with the show ‘Just For Men’. Later on, he worked as a page 3 and lifestyle reporter in a news channel. Sunny, while interviewing celebrities as a journalist, wanted to be on the other side of the camera. He later hogged the limelight as a VJ.

Sunny adorns a unique feat of playing the lead in his popular daily soap Kalyana Vaibhogam for more than 1000 episodes. Though he was away from the show for a brief period due to lockdown, he quickly made a comeback into the show. Later, Sunny quit the show after which it took a generation leap.

Born Arun Reddy, Sunny got his screen name ‘Sunny’ after his favourite bike during his teens. He was so fond of the bike and wanted to be known as Sunny rather than by his birth name.

Sunny is an ardent fan of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and doesn’t miss a chance to shower his love for his idol. In a chat with ETimes TV, Sunny stated that he cried for nearly half an hour when he learnt about Sushant's death.

Sunny was listed on the Most Desirable Men on TV list by Hyderabad Times almost thrice. One of his dreams was to top the most coveted list. His Bigg Boss stint might help him score better next time.
