Sreemukhi is one of the most vivacious anchors on Telugu television. From her small screen debut with ‘Adhurs’ to ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’, her latest singing reality show, the talented actress has grown from strength-to-strength.
The TV host is all about work this birthday and talks to us about her current association with the hit musical TV show.
“I’m really happy to be a part of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’.
This is really special to me,” says Sreemukhi prepping up for the shoot ahead.
The ace anchor turns 25 today and in a quick and exclusive rapid fire with TimesofIndia.com, Sreemukhi gets candid about her much anticipated 25th birthday and much more!
First person to wish on your birthday: Usually it’s my mom! Because we share our birthdays.
3 MUST things on your birthday: Food, Friends and Family.
One thing you remember about the last birthday: Last year, I remember cutting four cakes and this time I’m looking forward to more as I have a working birthday.
That one birthday wish that you were expecting but did not receive: Honestly, nothing of that sort. I still feel bad for not being able to thank everyone for all the love I’ve received on my birthday.
3 People who’ll never miss your birthday: My granny, brother and cousins.
Your ideal birthday plan: I usually prefer a working birthday. For a change I really wanted to party hard this time because it’s my 25th birthday. But it’s just not happening. Paapam me!
The bubbly actress is shooting for her TV show ‘Pataas’ followed by the audio launch event of Raviteja starrer ‘Nela Ticket’ movie.
Your favorite TV Show: Pataas. It is my all-time favorite. Even if I miss an episode, I see to it that I catch up on YouTube (laughs).
Your favorite TV Serial: Sorry! I’ve stopped watching soaps long back, probably when I was in class VIII. But I’m a lot into web TV series.
Sreemukhi is a millennial and doesn’t quite miss on her favorite stuff on the OTTs (over-the-top platforms) with ‘Santa Clarita Diet’ being her latest.
Your craziest birthday memory: Nothing actually. But I always had a complaint over my parents. They never celebrated my birthday like the way they did for my brother. During our childhood, his birthday used to be an event. I always wanted to have something like that. This year I thought I’ll make it happen but tough luck again.
Having said that, Sreemukhi reveals that he is the most pampered kid in the house and all of them love him.
Anyone who follows Sreemukhi on social media knows that she is an active Dubsmasher. When quizzed about her favorite dubsmash choice, she expressed her love for her most popular dubsmash - ‘O Sakkanoda’ song (Guru).
“I did that right after the day I watched Guru. We were shooting for a spoof on Pataas and I was in the right costume as well. Perhaps because of the hangover too, the dubsmash came out really well. I get so much love for that till date. It’s my all-time favorite,” reckons Sreemukhi.
On this note, Sreemukhi admits regret over missing followers on her social networking handles. “I used to be a post freak but of late I fell behind due to my hectic shoots,” says the popular Instagrammer.
Well! Has Sreemukhi changed over the years? Yes of course!
One big change in you of late: I’ve become more confident and energetic. And I’ve this feeling that I could be more of myself of late.
One thing you couldn’t change over the years: My food habits (laughs). I’m a big foodie. I could control my junk food intake but it isn’t enough. My shoots aren’t just helping.
One thing about you that hasn’t changed, according to your friends: I believe in people very quickly. I had people, whom I met just couple of times, come to me with some sad stories. I believed them blindly and it mostly backfired (laughs).
But Sreemukhi has absolutely zero regrets about it. She believes nothing can teach you better than experience.
Top 3 birthday resolutions: I don’t quite believe in them. But something thing I really want to do from this birthday is to make time for myself, my workouts and my family. I’ll be glad if it happens but I’m happy working even otherwise.
One thing you’re missing this birthday: My parents. They stay in Nizamabad and I’m stuck here between shoots.
With Mother’s day around the corner, Sreemukhi shares about the equation with her mother and the way it has evolved over the years.
“I feel blessed to have a great father but my mother is my biggest inspiration. Despite discontinuing her academics, she is a self-taught beautician. The way she supported the family through thick and thin over the years is just beyond words. Her hardship and commitment towards the family is truly inspiration. She is my biggest icon and support system,” shares Sreemukhi.
One thing your mother taught you: Never take things to heart. I seldom cry and if I ever did, it is before my mother. She believes I’m a strong girl. She was the one who brought me back to life actually.
One complaint she always had about you: In my childhood, it was my habit of eating slate pencils. Now-a-days, she complains that I’m not calling her often. (laughs)
3 things that you differ with your mother on: (Grins)
1. It is about is my wedding. She thinks I should get married and have lot of kids, which I’m not at thinking of right now.
2. We both are dog lovers but she is way too over pampering.
3. With regard to dealing with relatives, she is not as easy-going as I am.
One aspect of your mother that makes you feel ‘I’ll never be like her’: Oh! Her bubbliness.I can never be as sweet and cute as her at 40.
On a concluding note, Sreemukhi has a special message for her mother before zooming off to the shoot –
“Amma! I promise to gift you one birthday present every year so that you’ll forgive me for all that I do the rest of the year”
