Colors Tamil to be launched on February 19

TV channel viewers have yet another entertainment option in store.

announced the launch of its latest regional entertainment channel –

Colors Tamil

in Chennai today. The channel is scheduled to go on air from February 19, 2018.

The launch marks the entry of the organisation into the Tamil market. The group already runs entertainment channels in five regional languages under the brand name

Colors

, which includes Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Bengali and Odia.

Before the formal launch, Viacom18 had got the channels NXT and ZAP renamed as Colors Tamil and Colors Tamil HD respectively, from Information and Broadcasting Ministry. The channels were registered under non-news category. The event had Sudhanshu Vats, Group CEO, Ravish Kumar, head - regional entertainment and Anup Chandrasekhar, business head in attendance. The channel also announced actor Arya as its brand ambassador. The show Enga Veetu Maapilai, will be the highlight of the channel where Arya will hunt for his ideal match.
Sudhanshu posted on his micro-blogging page, “The entire @Viacom18 family is excited to announce the launch of #ColorsTamil. From speaking 7 languages, we will now be speaking in the 8th language. Mark your calendars. The date is February 19.”
