Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani resigns a year before Assembly polls

Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani has resigned from his post. Rupani met governor Acharya Devvrat at Raj Bhavan and submitted his resignation. Although the BJP has performed well in local polls under Vijay Rupani's leadership, but it is understood that the party wanted to fight next year's polls under a more charismatic leader. After submitting his resignation, Rupani told reporters he is thankful to the BJP leadership for giving him an opportunity to serve as the chief minister.
