Mahatma Gandhi's statue vandalised in Vijayawada

Just a day before the nation is preparing to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a statue of Mahatma Gandhi was vandalised by unidentified miscreants in Vijayawada of Andhra Pradesh. The incident took place in the Vinchipeta locality of Vijayawada. Angry people took out a protest rally demanding the arrest of accused responsible for this incident. One of the protesters said that it is a shameful act by some unidentified miscreants to disrespect the Father of the Nation and police must find out and take action against the accused.
