In a massive drive to conduct fair elections, the Election Commission of India cleared 58,000 walls covered with political graffiti across Uttar Pradesh. According to chief electoral officer Ajay Kumar Shukla, 38,891 walls of government properties were cleaned, while about 19,615 walls of private properties were cleared by ECI following Model Code of Conduct implementation. Posters, banners and other publicity materials were also removed by the poll body.
