The ninth day of the protest against the proposal to cut 16,500 trees in south Delhi saw musicians, poets, dancers and students gather at the site at Netaji Nagar, where trees have been cut already, for a unique musical protest. From members of various musical bands like Indian Ocean, Delhi Sultanate and Astitva to dancer Meher Malik and singer Tritha Sinha, the protest brought together several artists who endeavoured to deliver a message to the authorities. The site reverberated with Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s poem 'Bol Ke Lab Azaad Hai Tere', Indian Ocean’s 'Hille Re Jhakjhor Duniya' and the song 'Koi Shama Jalaiye Iss Daur-e- Siyasat Ka Andhera Mitaiye', while members of the Delhi Drum Circle provided the perfect accompaniment.
