T Reddi Lakshmi’s Kuchipudi recital at Nishagandhi Dance Festival

Kuchipudi dancer T Reddi Lakshmi performed at the on-going Nishagandhi Dance Festival in Thiruvananthapuram. The Hyderabad-based artiste showcased several well-known pieces which engrossed the assembled audience. A particularly appreciated piece was about the story of Sathyabhama, who considered as the second-most important wife of Lord Krishna. The piece narrated the emotional state of Sathyabhama while she was away from her husband, lord Krishna. With elegant abhinaya segments and expressions the dancer communicated the angst of Sathyabhama to the audience. The dance recital based on Arabhi in Mohanaragam was accompanied by Padmashree Jayarama Rao on natuvangam, Sudha Sreenivas on vocal, Sreedhar Acharya on mridangam and Kaipattur Radhakrishnan on violin.
