The World Tourism Day celebration in Lucknow were grand. The event kicked off on Monday at at Gomti Riverfront with the three-day Tourism Carnival to commemorate 50 years of UP Tourism Department. The celebrations were inaugurated by Yogi Adityanath, CM, UP in the presence of other ministers. The CM felicitated people from UP who have contributed in the promotion of tourism in the state.Later the event was marked by several cultural programmes including one of folk songs by Padma Shri Malini Awasthi. Among those who performed were classical dance by Nidhi Srivastava, a kathak dance recital by students of Sangeet Natak Academy. Tanmay and Digant Saikia staged a drum and flute fusion recital.The event also had folk artistes from across the state.The three-day carnival has an art exhibition, food festival and host of other activities being organised.
