Amidst nationwide anti-CAA and NRC protest, Cabinet Minister Piyush Goyal organized a Citizenship Amendment Act outreach program for the Indian film industry. The event, which was aimed to facilitate a discussion on the myths and realities pertaining the CAA was attended by a handful of B-town personalities, including Censor Board chief Prasoon Joshi, producers Ritesh Sidhwani, Bhushan Kumar, filmmakers Kunal Kohli, singers Kailash Kher, Shaan, Anu Malik, actors Shailesh Lodha and Ranveer Shorey, among others. The event, which created a lot of buzz on social media, took place under heavy security at a five-star hotel in Mumbai. While the meeting was underway, some anti- CAA protesters staged a demonstration outside the hotel premises, holding placards expressing their strong views against the act.
