Coronavirus pandemic: Death of 'star system' and 'Rs 100 crore club', predicts Shekhar Kapur

Known for directing super hit films like 'Mr. India', 'Bandit Queen', 'Masoom' and several others, veteran filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, in his latest tweet, has predicted the end of the ‘star system’, because of the closure of movie theatres during the coronavirus pandemic. According to the ace director, since all the big-budget movies such as 'Laxmmi Bomb', 'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl', to name a few, have been moved to streaming platforms for digital releases, from now on, the hype around first week business of 100+ crores is also dead. In his tweet, Kapur also added that henceforth actors will have to go to existing OTT platforms or stream films themselves through their own apps as technology is quite simple.
