Deepika Padukone’s discussion on mental health with WHO's Dr Tedros put on hold after netizens slam actress

Deepika Padukone was to go live with Dr Tedros, director-general of World Health Organization (WHO) to discuss the importance of mental health amid the coronavirus crisis on April 23, but following massive backlash from netizens who claimed Tedros reportedly gave China a clean chit in January when they stated COVID-19 doesn't transmit human-to-human, the session has now been put on hold. In a statement issued by the actress on social media, she wrote, ‘...due to unforeseen and highly unavoidable circumstances, 'prioritising mental health during the pandemic and beyond'...has been put on hold until further notice.’ Deepika, who is also a mental health activist, hoped people would prioritise and nurture the mental health aspect of the pandemic through these unusual times.
