Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's latest interview with Oprah Winfrey has evoked an uproar around the world. It was the very first time after the couple stepped away from their royal duties that they openly talked about how they were mistreated by the royal family and the British tabloids, amid claims of racism and financial abandonment. Markle also went on to reveal how life as a member of the royal family became so isolating that she contemplated suicide. Now, after the interview went viral, the power couple received mixed reactions from fans and friends. While some have supported Meghan, some are unconvinced by the former actress’s claims. One of the veteran Bollywood actors and talk show host Simi Garewal, too, took to her Twitter account to share that she doesn't believe a word of what Meghan said on the show. Simi wrote, '#OprahMeghanHarry I don't believe a word Meghan says. Not a word. She is lying to make herself a victim. She is using the race card to gain sympathy. Evil'. However Markle's good friend, tennis star Serena Williams, led the way, applauding Markle for speaking out. She called the former 'Suits' actress 'my selfless friend' who lives her life with 'empathy and compassion'. Actress Jameela Jamil too condemned British tabloids and came in support of Meghan, as she wrote in her tweet, 'Can we please take a moment to remember how obscene the behavior of the press and palace was in anticipation of an interview that actually turned out to be quite vague and tame?'. While, on the other side celebrities like American documentary filmmaker Michael Moore expressed shock over Meghan’s claim about an unnamed member of the Royal family raising 'concerns' about how dark her son, Archie’s skin would be before his birth. Moore wrote on Twitter, 'The Kingdom which first brought slaves here 400yrs ago has their current racism outed in all its brutality—how black will her kids be?'
