India’s ex-top model and designer Simar Dugal passes away due to cancer, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni to Malaika Arora, Shweta Bachchan Nanda to Ritu Kumar, celebs mourn her demise

In the wee hours of Wednesday, Simar Dugal touted to be 'India's First Supermodel' and ace designer breathed her last after looking cancer in the eye and fighting it bravely for many years. She was a reputed name in the fashion world, designing clothes for Bollywood celebs such as Malaika Arora, Alia Bhatt, Neetu Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan, among others. Friends from the industry mourned her demise through heartfelt tributes. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni posted a picture of Simar on her Instagram stories. Malaika, sharing some throwback pictures with Simar, bid her close friend adieu. Leading fashion designer Ritu Kumar shared a long note remembering Simar. 'For me her passing away, seems as if an era of fashion in India has also gone, perhaps not ever to come back again...' Lara Dutta also expressed her grief over her passing. Other celebs like Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Amrita Arora, Bhavana Pandey, too, reacted to the sad news on Malaika's post.
