Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms, Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment face heat of Income Tax department

Several production houses of Bollywood have come under the scanner of Income Tax Department reportedly due to discrepancies in the payments of their additional staff. According to a report, they have been deducting two percent TDS from the wages of the extra staff instead of the mandatory ten percent. Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms, Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment and four other production houses are on the radar. A senior official of the IT Department has confirmed that a survey was definitely conducted but no decision has been taken about the findings.
