‘Liger’ director Puri Jagannadh has reportedly requested police protection for himself and his family after two distributors allegedly planned to stage protests outside his house for not returning their money after the film’s failure. According to reports, he alleged that the distributors might instigate violence, enter his premises, physically and mentally harass his family in his absence, and illegally extract monies. In his complaint, Puri Jagannadh reportedly said, ‘(If the distributors) have any grievance or believe that I or my firm owes any amounts, they ought to have filed a civil case before an appropriate court and cannot threaten or arm twist me in an illegal manner only to extract monies that I don’t owe.’ The reports further stated that Jagannadh has sought strict actions and investigations against the distributors.
