'Mulk' director Anubhav Sinha says if India was intolerant SRK, Katrina wouldn't be stars

A raging debate has been dominating the nation on whether or not India is an intolerant nation. This debate has divided Bollywood. While some are silent, others have sent perpetual clarifications regarding their stand. Recently, during the promotion of 'Mulk' in Delhi, the topic of intolerance found its place again. While replying to a one such question, Anubhav Sinha acceptedly said, ‘This is exactly what I am trying to say. India is not an intolerant nation, had it been so, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif would not have been stars. It is a perception created by some people during elections.’Continuing the answer, Taapsee Pannu joined and said,’Even when we were being trolled online, some supposed educated people had asked the same kind of questions to us. Firstly, you are only judging a few section of people, come out from that circle and get a view, not everyone feels the same. This is an image kept in front of us, and we are told, okay so this sect of people is like this, and that sect of people is like that, and many have also started stereotyping them.’
