'Namaste England' actress Alankrita Sahai robbed of Rs 6.5 lakh at knifepoint, held hostage by 3 and assaulted

In a spine-chilling incident, actress Alankrita Sahai was held at knifepoint and robbed of Rs 6,50,000 in broad daylight earlier this week at her Chandigarh residence. According to reports, three intruders barged into her rented apartment at around 12:30 pm and held her hostage, while robbing her. One miscreant took her ATM card and left to withdrew Rs 50,000 from her account while the others kept a watch on her. Reports claim that the actress managed to run into her room at that very moment and locked herself inside. However, the two robbers who had been keeping watch managed to enter her room through the balcony, forcing her to rush inside the washroom. Fearing for her life, after they broke the exhaust fan of the washroom and demanded money, Sahai threw Rs 6 lakh out of the room. Reportedly, the robbers made a run from her balcony, when she began screaming for help. The robbers first landed on the floor below hers, and then fleed. As per a media report, the actress has already identified one of the suspects. It seems the actress suspects one of the robbers to be the same person who had delivered furniture to her house over the weekend. The police were informed about the incident and an investigation has been initiated. CCTV cameras footages from around the area caught the robbers escaping, suggested reports. The police said the actress was new to the city and had shifted there just around a month ago. The actress' parents, who stay with her, were reportedly out of the city. The report further quoted sources as saying that the actress had been alone at the house and she had kept the door open for her maid when the miscreants entered her house. It seems one of the thieves even picked a knife and threatened her. Furthermore, the actress is said to have been allegedly assaulted by the suspects.
