Pakistan's KPK govt approves Rs 2.35 crore to buy Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor's ancestral homes in Peshawar's Qissa Khwani Bazaar

For quite some time now, actor Raj Kapoor's ancestral home, known as Kapoor Haveli and veteran actor Dilip Kumar's over 100-year-old ancestral house situated in the fabled Qissa Khwani Bazaar in Peshawar were facing demolition threats due to its dilapidated conditions. However, now, some good news arrives from Pakistan. It seems Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has finally approved the release of Rs 2.35 crore to purchase the ancestral houses and conserve the historic buildings. It is being reported that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmud Khan formally approved the proposal, allowing the concerned authorities to purchase the ancestral havelis at a rate determined by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Communication and Works Department.
