Saira Banu's health update: Doctor reveals veteran actress is battling depression after Dilip Kumar’s demise, says 'She doesn't sleep much'

After complaining of issues related to blood pressure, late legendary actor Dilip Kumar's wife Saira Banu got admitted to a hospital in Mumbai on August 28. After her health deteriorated, she was shifted to the ICU. Now, as per the latest update, Saira Banu is battling depression post the death of her husband Dilip Kumar. In an interview, the doctor who is attending to her said, 'She doesn't sleep much. She wants to go home.' Earlier, after she got admitted to the hospital, doctors examined her and diagnosed a heart problem. Doctors are also keen on going for an angiogram procedure. However, the senior actress has refused permission for it. In a conversation with a news portal, the doctor said, 'Yesterday, her cardiac tests happened and she has been diagnosed with an acute coronary syndrome. Once she gives her consent, doctors can perform an angiography.' On the other hand, a source close to the family opened up on the need for angiography and said, 'We are not in a hurry to go in for the angiography. We will decide in 4 or 5 days.' Earlier, in a conversation with ETimes, the doctor who is attending to Saira Banu said, 'The problem has been controlled for now and she is medically much better now. She is fine, she is completely stable, and we will be moving her out of the ICU either tonight or tomorrow.' While pointing out that it's a case of left ventricular failure, which will need an angiography, he said, 'It will be cured. We first need to control her diabetes.' The 77-year-old, Saira Banu made her acting debut with the 1961 film 'Junglee' opposite late actor Shammi Kapoor and went on to become the topmost actress of the 60s and 70s. She featured in films like 'Padosan', 'Hera Pheri', 'Diwana' and 'Purab Aur Paschim'. However, along with her acting skills, she earned a lot of praises and admirers for the way she stood with her husband Dilip Kumar who was ailing for several years.
