In 1996, Suniel Shetty reportedly rescued 128 women from human trafficking from Mumbai’s Kamathipura and flew them to Kathmandu. An old video of a survivor talking about how the actor supported them has surfaced on social media. Suniel even talked about the incident to an entertainment portal and said, ‘We didn’t really think about the price of flight tickets. The cost was not that important. It was the effort that counted.’ He also refused to take the entire credit for the rescue and said that many people were involved in it including his mother-in-law who runs an NGO.
