Sanjay Leela Bhansali, not Karan Johar to helm 'The Immortals of Meluha'

Rumours were rife that Karan Johar dropped the idea of making this magnum opus mythological story on the life of Lord Shiva, due to his fear of the kind of response that would be generated. Since the movie is an adaptation of a series of the novel penned down by Amish Tripathi, the repercussions of basing a movie on a Hindu God could be unprecedented. However as per latest reports, 'Padmavati' director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has bought the rights of the first instalment of Amish's Shiva Trilogy, 'The Immortals of Meluha'.
