Suchitra Krishnamoorti on COVID-19 situation: Authorities were behaving as if the pandemic was over, rising numbers are a slap on everyone’s face'

Amid the second wave of Coronavirus in the country, many celebrities from the entertainment industry took to their social media handles for raising awareness about the pandemic and ongoing vaccination drive. Now, a few days ago, veteran actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthi took to her Twitter account to talk about the COVID-19 vaccine shortage. In the tweet, she talked about a hospital and how she is being turned down for the vaccine. She also wrote that she registered for a vaccine on the COWIN website and the hospital has run out of it. In another tweet, she said that vaccine shortage isn't a rumour and that she has experienced it herself. Now, in a recent interview, the actress talked about her concerns and the experience, she said, 'The shortage is a real issue in Mumbai. I don’t know about the rest of India. People at the place I got it said they don’t know if the stocks would last post-lunch. One wonders and doubts if it is really a shortage or is the public suffering due to politics. How can we run out of vaccines when all of us have to get it? There must have been terrible mismanagement to run out. I hope it gets sorted soon'.
