Bollywood is mourning the death of filmmaker-producer Raj Kaushal who passed away in the wee hours of June 30 after suffering a cardiac arrest. He is survived by his wife, Mandira Bedi and kids - Veer and Tara. He was not just a creative mind but a brother to some, a friend for most, a loving partner to his wife, a devoted father to his children, a caring son and so much much more. We have also seen an outpouring of tribute for the late soul on social media, who seemed to have touched many, many lives with his work, compassion, caring soul and fun-loving attitude. Several friends even visited Mandira and Raj's house to pay their last respects to him before he was laid to rest for eternity. On Sunday, that is June 27, Raj Kaushal was fine when he socialised with Zaheer Khan, Sagarika Ghatge, Ashish Chaudhary, Samita Bangargi, Neha Dhupia, and Angad Bedi. It was on the evening of June 29 that the tale of horror began. The sudden demise of Mandira Bedi's husband is not easy to overcome for even those who barely knew him. Now, music director Sulaiman Merchant narrated the whole incident in a recent interview with ETimes. He said, 'Raj was feeling uneasy in the evening. Well, he took an antacid tablet. Time rolled by into the night, and around 4 am, Raj felt more uneasy. He told Mandira that he was getting a heart attack. Mandira acted swiftly and called Ashish Chaudhary, who rushed to their place. Mandira and Ashish put him in the car but he was losing consciousness. I think they drove off, taking him to the Lilavati Hospital if I'm not wrong. But in the next 5-10 minutes, they realised that he had no pulse. Before they reached the doctor, it was too late..' Sulaiman also revealed that Raj had suffered a heart attack once before too. 'I think he was 30-32 then. But they took a lot of care after that attack, and he'd kept fine since then.' Sulaiman also poured his heart out for his late beloved friend and said, 'I have lost a friend of 25 years. I knew him since the days he was assisting Mukul Anand on 'Dus'. I had gone to his house once during the pandemic, many months back. Salim and I gave music to his first film 'Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi'. I was frequently in touch with him. When we were going to start our album 'Bhoomi 2020', he offered us his bungalow in Madh island, which he rents out for shootings. Eventually, we didn't shoot there. It doesn't get more shocking than this.'
