Suniel Shetty files police complaint against production house for circulating fake poster featuring him

Actor Suniel Shetty has filed a police complaint against a production company for circulating a fake poster featuring him and lying about him playing the film's lead. The actor said that his picture was used without his permission. He filed the complaint at Versova Police Station, Mumbai. The actor made sure he highlighted the matter at hand on his social media handles to warn people. He said he is more concerned about how young persons would have been duped by the posters. Sharing a news article, the actor wrote, 'more than using my picture and financial exploitation it is about exploiting young vulnerable talent!!' Calling it an act of 'complete fraud', Shetty, in an interview said, 'I don’t know whose film it is and who they are, nor did I sign this film. They are openly exploiting an artiste. They are trying to get the film financed using my name. This is ruining my reputation and as such, I decided to file a complaint.' Meanwhile, the production house has now clarified. The manager of the production house, calling it a 'mistake', in an interview to a news website said, 'We made a mistake. We were preparing for the casting of our two films keeping two to three actors, including Shetty and Bobby Deol, in mind. We made a poster using their photos just to check how they look. But someone made the posters go viral on social media. The posters were later deleted.' The manager further added, 'It is wrong to say that we are seeking money from people by showing Shetty’s photo and poster. Our account can be checked. It is also true that no financer finances without signing an agreement.' As for things on the work front, Suniel will next be seen in Emraan Hashmi and John Abraham's 'Mumbai Saga'. Like any doting father, he is also waiting for the release of 'Tadap', which will mark the Bollywood debut of his son Ahan Shetty. His daughter Athiya Shetty is already doing quite well in the industry.
