In the death case of Bengali actress Pallavi Dey, a preliminary post-mortem report hinted that the actress had committed suicide. However, police are investigating the "abatement to suicide" angle. According to Pallavi's parents Shagnik Chakraborty entered into a live-in relationship with their daughter despite being married and when Pallavi came to know of his marriage six months ago, Shagnik told her that a divorce case was in the process and he was in separation from his wife. Pallavi's parents have also alleged that Shagnaik was totally dependent on Pallavi financially and they together purchased luxurious accommodation at New Town and a vehicle for themselves.
