Bengali actress-turned-politician Nusrat Jahan gave birth to a baby boy at a private hospital in Kolkata on August 26. While the actress is getting congratulatory messages and all the love from her fans and friends, her estranged husband Nikhil Jan has also reacted to the good news. In a conversation with a news portal, Nikhil said 'My differences with her would not stop me from wishing well for the newborn. I wish her well. May the baby be super healthy and have a prosperous future.' Well, Nusrat tied the knot with Nikhil Jain in a destination wedding in Turkey in 2019. However, some months later, reports of trouble in Nusrat and Nikhil's marriage began doing rounds. Around the same time, rumours were rife that Nusrat was getting closer to her 'SOS Kolkata' co-star Yash Dasgupta. Later some reports stated that the two had taken a trip to Rajasthan. Finally, putting an end to all speculations, Nusrat shared a statement with the media some months back claiming that her wedding with businessman Nikhil Jain is invalid in India and that they were in a live-in relationship. An excerpt of her statement read, 'Being on foreign land, as per Turkish Marriage Regulation, the ceremony is invalid. It was an interfaith marriage, it requires validation under the Special Marriage Act in India which didn't happen. She also refused to comment on her alleged relationship with Yash and said, 'People have always put me on trial. But this time, I am not going to comment. People can only judge me for my work as an actor and nothing else. Be it good, bad or ugly, it is my personal life and I am not going to share it with anyone.' However, according to reports, Nusrat had asked the hospital staff to let Yash be present with her during the delivery.
