Actress Sharanya Sasi passes away at 35 after battling cancer for 10 years, friends, colleagues mourn her demise

Actress Sharanya Sasi Sharu, who had been battling brain tumour for the last 10 years, passed away today. She was just 35. The actress, who had undergone 11 major surgeries over the course of her treatment, was hospitalised after contracting COVID-19 a couple of weeks ago. Reportedly, even after recovering from COVID-19, she had to be rushed to a hospital because of pneumonia and low sodium levels in blood. Saranya breathed her last on August 9 at noon at a private hospital in Trivandrum, Kerala. She was a popular actress in the Malayalam television and film industry. Ever since her treatment began, she had been facing a severe financial crisis. She also sought the help of many people in the industry. Some of her television shows include 'Manthrakodi', 'Seetha' and 'Harichandanam'. She also played supporting roles in 'Chotta Mumbai', 'Bombay', 'Chacko Randaman' and 'Thalappavu'. Her death has left many in shock. Malayalam TV celebrities are now mourning the sad demise of the young actress. Actress Seema G Nair, who was Saranya's biggest support during the illness, is the one who broke the news to fans through her social media account. Mourning her demise, Seema wrote, 'An end to all the efforts and prayers, she is gone'. Tv host Arya, mourning her demise, penned, 'You fought your battle of survival so bravely my dear. Finally, you are gifted with peace is all I can say now. No more pain, no more sufferings. Rest in peace girl.' Calling her an example of survival, actor Deepan Murali penned a note for her. 'She left, to the world without pain. No words, rest in peace dear,' actress Krishna Prabha wrote on her social media account.
