Acclaimed director Hariharan was chosen for the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 66th Filmfare South Awards held at Chennai on December 21, 2019. The veteran filmmaker was honoured for his distinguished body of work that includes films such as Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha and Pazhassi Raja. “We never expect awards. It just happens. This award also happened. It’s the first time I am getting a lifetime achievement award and obviously I am very excited,” said the acclaimed filmmaker after being honoured at Filmfare Awards South 2019.
