Madras High Court orders Vishal to pay Rs 15 crore as a fixed deposit against the loan taken

As actor Vishal has failed to repay the loan of Rs, 21 crore to Lyca Productions, the production house has now insisted that Vishal's film 'Veerame Vagai Soodum' should not be allowed to be aired on any digital and satellite until the actor repays the loan. On the other hand, Madras High Court has ordered actor Vishal to pay Rs 15 crore as a fixed deposit for a loan taken from Lyca Productions and asked the actor to submit the receipt for such payment within 3 weeks. Vishal had taken a loan of Rs 21 crore from Gopuram Films (Anbu Cheliyan) for his film 'Marudhu'. Since he could not repay the amount on time, Vishal asked Lyca Productions to pay the amount and reportedly promised in writing that he would pay it by December 2020. Accordingly, his loan was settled by Lyca Productions. To everyone's surprise, Vishal did not repay the loan beyond that installment, and Lyca Productions had sent him a notice. As he did not respond to that, a case was filed in the Madras High Court on behalf of the production house. It is worth mentioning that earlier in August 2021, Madras High Court had imposed Rs 5 lakh on Lyca Productions for filing an application that was allegedly devoid of merits, against Vishal in the same case.
