A protest rally organized by pro-Khalistan groups in Canadian cities, in response to the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, experienced a significant lack of support. The call for protests came from Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the chief of the Khalistani terrorist organization Sikhs For Justice. Despite the call, the main rally outside the Indian Consulate in Vancouver failed to garner substantial participation, with only a few dozen individuals joining the demonstration against India. Hardeep Singh Nijjar was killed outside a Gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia, on June 18, and his murder, along with Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau's support for pro-Khalistan groups, has strained India-Canada relations.
