Venezuela's foreign minister Yvan Gil Pinto has accused the United States of attempting to bring war to Latin America to plunder his country's national resources. Addressing the United Nations General Assembly, Pinto said that since Caracas cannot be accused of having weapons of mass destruction or nuclear weapons, Washington is inventing "vulgar and perverse lies" that "no one believes - either in the United States or in the world - to justify a millionaire military threat that is atrocious, extravagant and immoral."
