The Punjab National Bank (PNB) has been reprimanded by the Bombay High Court for its lack of action in recovering the substantial loan amounts obtained by the fugitive Nirav Modi. During the hearing on Tuesday, a division bench consisting of Justice Revati Mohite-Dere and Justice Gauri Godse emphasized the significance of the 'huge public money' involved in the case. The court on Tuesday was hearing separate pleas filed by the PNB and the Enforcement Directorate (ED), both staking claims over Modi's properties worth Rs 500 crore that are attached. The ED also lodged an appeal against the Special PML Court's order, asserting its rights over the remaining nine properties in addition to the 12 it was allowed to confiscate, based on its status as the investigating agency in the case.
