Covid-19: India sees sharpest weekly surge, 5 states report more than 80% cases

According to the latest report from the health ministry, Maharashtra, Punjab, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka a surge in Covid-19 cases. These states account for 80.5% of cases registered in the last 24 hours. India recorded over 2.6 lakh fresh cases in the week (March 15-21), more than 1 lakh cases in the previous week. India added 47,047 new cases in the last 24 hours, the highest daily count in 130 days since November 11.
