“Democratic principles must be followed…” MoS Lekhi amid ruckus during Delhi Mayor elections

Democratic principles must be followed, said Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakashi Lekhi after a ruckus erupted between Aam Aadmi Party and Bharatiya Janata Party councillors during elections for the Delhi Mayor. Meenakashi Lekhi said, “We were sitting in the House to vote since 11 am and when finally the time came, a ruckus began in the House. This is wrong, democratic principles must be followed.” “We want to let Mayor election happen for Delhi. Next date would be decided by the authorities,” Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Parvesh Sahib Singh said.
