'India Indispensable To Asia': Donald Trump's War Envoy Colby Signals US Shift Amid West Asia Crisis

The United States has sent a strong message on India’s global role. Calling New Delhi “indispensable,” Elbridge Colby said that a powerful and independent India is key to maintaining stability in the Indo-Pacific. Unlike traditional alliances, this partnership is built on mutual interests, not dependence. From joint military exercises to advanced defence technologies and industrial collaboration, ties are entering a new phase. Colby emphasised that both countries share a vision of a free and open Indo-Pacific where power is balanced. As global dynamics shift, India’s strategic autonomy is not seen as a challenge, but as an asset. The message from Washington is clear — a stronger India strengthens the regional and global order.
