Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong at Hyderabad House, New Delhi, marking his first visit to India since assuming office. The leaders held bilateral and delegation-level talks, signed multiple MoUs, and jointly inaugurated Phase-II of PSA’s Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal. Celebrating 60 years of diplomatic ties, both leaders discussed enhancing cooperation across sectors including defence, AI, space, digital payments, advanced manufacturing, and green shipping. PM Modi highlighted Singapore as India’s largest trade partner in Southeast Asia and thanked Singapore for its support following the Pahalgam attack. PM Wong reaffirmed Singapore’s commitment to India’s skill development, civil aviation, and semiconductor ecosystem. The two nations agreed to deepen people-to-people ties, expand civil service exchanges, and continue working closely in the Indo-Pacific region. With shared values and strategic vision, the leaders called the partnership a model of mutual trust and forward-looking cooperation. The next India-Singapore Hackathon is also set for later this year.
