Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended credit lines worth 200 million US Dollars on his visit to the African nation of Rwanda. PM Modi also said India will open a High Commission in Rwanda to fulfil a long pending demand of Indians settled in the country. It came as a pleasant surprise for Modi who was received at the airport by Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame. After one-on-one talks between the two leaders, both countries signed agreements related to leather and its allied areas and agricultural research. The lines of credit extended to Rwanda are for development of industrial parks and Kigali special economic zone and agriculture. Modi is on a three-nation tour to Africa and became the first PM to visit Rwanda – one of the fastest growing economies in East Africa.
