‘Rio weds Ria’: Couple conducts wedding of pet dogs in Maharashtra

Marrying off pet dogs is a new trend started among pet owners in India. In one such incident, a one-year-old male dog Rio got hitched to nine months old female dog Ria in Navi Mumbai’s Sanpada on January 25. The wedding ceremony of Rio and Ria was observed following the rituals of Indian weddings. Neighbours and relatives attended the wedding. “After seeing their love, we decided to mate them first. Then we decided to get them married before mating,” said dogs parent.
