A key INDIA bloc meeting scheduled in Delhi on June 8 is set to witness the absence of the DMK, highlighting growing tensions within the Opposition alliance. The meeting is expected to bring together around 17 Opposition parties, including the Trinamool Congress, in a show of unity against the BJP. However, the DMK has decided to skip the gathering, reportedly over Congress' support for Vijay's TVK during the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The decision follows earlier signs of strain, including DMK leader Kanimozhi Karunanidhi requesting separate seating arrangements for her party's MPs in Parliament away from Congress members. In a statement, the DMK said its cadres felt “betrayed” by Congress after the Tamil Nadu elections and that the party would not attend the June 8 meeting. Despite the boycott, the DMK said it would continue supporting INDIA bloc parties on issues concerning national welfare.
