Tensions flared in West Bengal ahead of the second phase of polling on April 29 as clashes were reported from Howrah and Haroa In Howrah a BJP roadshow led by MP Ravi Kishan witnessed confrontation after rival groups exchanged slogans leading to a scuffle between TMC and BJP supporters Central forces intervened and carried out a baton charge to restore order In another incident in Haroa a police sub inspector was injured while trying to separate TMC and ISF supporters after a dispute linked to a roadshow Both sides blamed each other for the violence as security has been tightened across sensitive areas ahead of the crucial voting phase in the state
