A political storm has erupted in West Bengal after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee questioned whether the BJP has a “blueprint ready” for another Pahalgam-like attack ahead of elections. Speaking at a rally in Nadia, Banerjee also raised concerns over a reported threat by Pakistan’s Defence Minister and criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his response. The BJP strongly condemned the remarks, accusing the Trinamool Congress of indulging in appeasement politics and trivialising a deadly terror attack. With elections approaching, the controversy has further escalated tensions between the two parties, bringing national security and political rhetoric to the forefront of Bengal’s electoral discourse.
