Mamata Launches 5 New Community Boards | A Game-Changer for Bengal Polls?

As West Bengal heads towards its 294-member legislative assembly election, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced five new Cultural and Development Boards targeting the Munda, Kora, Dom, Kumbhakar, and Sadgope communities. These boards are designed to safeguard cultural heritage, languages, and socio-economic welfare for these tribal, Dalit, and backward groups. Analysts see this move as a strategic effort by the Trinamool Congress to strengthen its foothold in politically sensitive western districts, where competition with the Bharatiya Janata Party remains intense.
