Mumbai is facing a blood crisis. The Tata Memorial Centre in Mumbai has appealed to citizens via Twitter to donate blood. With the possibility of the third wave of COVID-19, the appeal for donation assumes greater significance. Dr CS Pramesh, Director TMC Hospital said that the hospital requires 60 units of blood per day and is currently facing 25% shortage of blood. The Mahatma Gandhi blood centre in Thane is falling short by 50% of its blood requirement. An appeal has also been issued to various organisations and housing societies to hold blood donation camps.
