Ministry of Information and Broadcasting asks producers to clear dues of TV artistes amid the COVID-19 lockdown

Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, people including celebrities are going through a lot of financial crisis as the shoots have come to a halt. Now, amid the same, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has asked the producers to take a compassionate view towards the situation and clear the dues of TV artistes until March 2020. As per reports, in the letter issued by the ministry, it mentioned, 'The pandemic of COVID-19 has led to a financial downturn for a large number of sectors of the economy. However, equally important is the livelihoods of the employees who are working in this sector, including a large number of modestly paid TV artistes engaged for the production of various TV serials. While services of such persons were taken, some of them may not have received their remuneration'.
