‘Euphoria’ Season 3 pays tribute to Eric Dane

At the start of the season three premiere, there was a memorial card featuring a photo of Eric, who passed away on February 19 after battling with ALS. Eric, who played Cal Jacobs, Jacob Elordi’s character, Nate Jacob’s dad in the series, was still able to film for the new season and was briefly featured in the season trailer.Based on his trailer appearance, it seems Eric will be featured in one of the scenes from Cassie and Nate’s wedding and have an interaction with Hunter Schafer as Jules, the character with whom he had a one-night stand in the past.

Tributes to the other souls that passed away

After the credits rolled at the end of the episode, the screen also featured an 'In Memoriam' for Eric, Angus Cloud, and executive producer Kevin Turen, who passed away in 2023.

Angus Cloud’s character, Fezco, is still a part of the storyline

Even though Angus himself isn’t a part of the show, his character, Fezco, is still there in the new season. In the Season 3 premiere, it’s revealed that Fezco, aka Fez, played by Cloud before his tragic overdose in 2023, is serving a decades-long prison sentence.During the episode, which aired Sunday, Rue (Zendaya) attempts to get her friend Lexi (Maude Apatow) to call him in jail. Lexi, who had a budding romance with the affable drug dealer in Season 2, admits she “feels guilty” that she hadn’t spoken to him but insists she’s been busy. “He misses you,” Rue tells her, assuring her that he’s mentioned her multiple times. Lexi, who now has a job working on a show in Hollywood, says, “I don’t know, my hours and his hours don’t really line up, so it’s hard.” Rue shoots back, “Just pick up the phone and call him! It’s not like he’s going anywhere. He’s in prison for 30 years.”Executive producer Kevin Turen died of heart complications at 44 in November 2023.“Euphoria” Season 3, starring Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, and Alexa Demie, airs weekly on HBO.
