Waiting for ‘House of the Dragon Season 3’? You’re not alone. With the next chapter of the Targaryen dynasty saga loading and slated to land in June 2026, the anticipation is real. But honestly, there’s no need to just sit around counting days. You can always choose to explore shows that are already here, within your grasp, on various OTT platforms.
Think ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ from George R.R. Martin’s ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ universe, or some historical/fantasy content like ‘The Last Kingdom’, ‘Vikings’, or ‘The Witcher’. These shows are rich with storytelling, unforgettable characters, and compelling twists and turns. If you love fantasy, messy power struggles, and worlds bursting with intrigue and action, now’s the time to fill your watchlist.
From political intrigues of Westeros to waves of Norse invaders and monster-slaying journeys, here’s your perfect binge list.

And if you’re one of those few people who haven’t watched Game of Thrones yet, now’s the perfect time. This is the series that put fantasy drama on the map, thanks to George R.R. Martin’s huge, brutal world. Westeros and Essos are packed with feuding families, ancient threats, and enough backstabbing to make your head spin. There are over 70 episodes, spanning 8 seasons. Shocking deaths. More mind-numbing weddings. Brutal battles. Characters you’ll love, hate, or have mixed feelings about. ‘Game of Thrones’ not only sets the gold standard for epic drama, but it’s also the ideal warm-up for ‘House of the Dragon’.
Where to watch: All eight seasons of ‘Game of Thrones’ are on streaming on HBO Max, which is where House of the Dragon drops, too.

This one’s a fresh slice of Westeros, slightly away from the chaos and bloodbath. This brand new ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ dropped in January 2026, and this show is a ‘Game of Thrones’ spinoff that goes back about a hundred years before the main series. Technically, this one sits in between ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘House of the Dragon’. The series is all about Ser Duncan the Tall, also known as Dunk, and his squire Egg, who’s actually destined for much bigger things in the Targaryen family tree. Sure, it’s smaller in scope but big on heart. You get friendship, politics, and action, all at a pace that’s easy to dive into. And it’s perfect if you want a taste of Westeros without the overwhelming scale of the main series.
Where to watch: Stream it on HBO Max worldwide. In India, head to JioHotstar to watch.

‘The Last Kingdom’ is history with edge. If you’re into sword fights and messy loyalties, you can check out this one. This series follows Uhtred of Bebbanburg, a Saxon noble raised by Vikings, caught between two worlds as England takes shape. The show, based on Bernard Cornwell’s novels, ran for five solid seasons. It’s got everything: from history, brutal battles, to shifting alliances, and a main character who just can’t catch a break. The show’s finished, so you can binge straight through without waiting for new episodes.
Fun fact: ‘The Last Kingdom’ features Ewan Mitchell (Aemond Targaryen) in an earlier role.
Where to watch: Netflix has all five seasons of ‘The Last Kingdom’ ready to go.

Intrigued about Norse legends? With ‘Vikings’, there’s no holding back. This show swings between myth and reality, following the journey of Ragnar Lothbrok and his family from raiding nobodies to power players. Expect blood, drama, and the kind of plot twists that’ll keep you guessing. Moreover, like ‘House of the Dragon’, ‘Vikings’ thrives on power games, family feuds, and epic battles. The characters are fierce, messy, and never boring.
Where to watch: You can stream it on Peacock or on Amazon Prime Video.

Think monsters, magic, and mayhem, and ‘The Witcher’ has got it all. Dive into this series if you want something with a bit more magic and darkness. Based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels, it follows Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter who’s always in over his head. Yennefer and Ciri bring even more depth (and chaos) to the story, which is packed with prophecy and danger. ‘The Witcher’ leans harder into the supernatural, but it nails those morally gray characters and twisty storylines that ‘Game of Thrones’ fans love. It’s dark, weird, and addictive.
Where to watch: All current seasons of the show are streaming on Netflix.
