OTT platforms have been the ultimate source of entertainment for the audience all through lockdown and there has been a plethora of content presented on this newfound medium! And the entertainment won’t be stopping anytime soon, as a line-up of some even more interesting shows has already been announced. Take a look at five Indian web series that you must watch out for!

Hansal Mehta directed ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’ emerged as one of the biggest success stories of OTT in 2020. Following it with a sequel, the filmmaker has announced ‘Scam 2003: The Curious Case of Abdul Karim Telgi’. As the name suggests, this series will narrate the story of the controversial stamp paper scam in India. It will reportedly be adapted from the Hindi book ‘Reporter ki Diary’. Hansal Mehta is yet to announce the cast of this much-awaited series.

Joining the OTT bandwagon, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has announced his magnum opus series ‘Heeramandi’. The show will explore stories of courtesans and the hidden cultural reality of Heeramandi and narrate tales of love, betrayal, succession, and politics in the kothas. The maverick filmmaker promises larger-than-life sets, multi-faceted characters, and soulful compositions. Speaking about the venture, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had said in a statement, “Heeramandi is an important milestone in my journey as a filmmaker. This is an epic, first of its kind series based on the courtesans of Lahore. It is an ambitious, grand and all-encompassing series; therefore I am nervous yet excited about making it”.

The first two seasons of ‘Mirzapur’ were a massive hit and its third season is eagerly awaited by fans. This action-thriller series features acting aces like Pankaj Tripathi, Shweta Tripathi, Divyendu Sharma, Ali Fazal, Vikrant Massey, Rasika Dugal, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda to name a few. ‘Mirzapur 3’ is on its way, but the makers are yet to announce its release date.

Madhuri Dixit is all set to debut on a streaming platform with an engaging web series titled ‘Finding Anamika’. This series will see Madhuri playing the role of a global superstar, who suddenly disappears. The police try to track down the mother-of-two with the help of her family. Madhuri has been extensively shooting for ‘Finding Anamika’, which also stars Sanjay Kapoor and Manav Kaul in pivotal roles.

Ajay Devgn is all set to put on a cop act for his OTT web series ‘Rudra’. This crime-drama series will witness the actor essay an action-packed role. Speaking about his character in the show, Ajay had told PTI, “Playing a cop on screen is not new to me, but this time the character is more intense, complex and dark. What drew me most to his persona, is that he is possibly the greyest character you may come across in recent times”. ‘Rudra’ also features Esha Deol and Atul Kulkarni in pivotal roles.
